Troubleshoot Your Houseplants
Diagnose what is wrong with your plant and what to do about it
Yellow leaves. Brown tips. Mushy roots. Webbing on leaves. Water-soaked lesions. It’s not always easy to know what’s happening with our houseplants!
TROUBLESHOOT YOUR HOUSEPLANTS will help you problem solve what may be afflicting your plants; how to course correct certain ailments; learn what a range of symptoms may mean; and practice more proactive ways to prevent plant diseases, deficiencies and pests.
The mini-course is divided up into three main sections: Plant Pests, Fertilizer Deficiencies, and Plant Pathogens. Across this entire course, you’ll have around FOUR hours of video tutorials and audio guides, ~200 images to help you visualize a range of plant issues, and a variety of additional materials to help you better troubleshoot your houseplants.
If you’re taking or have taken the Houseplant Masterclass already, then this mini-course is already included in that course, which is why there’s a discounted upgrade for the Masterclass if you choose to enroll in this course first.
So onto figuring out what’s ailing your plants!
Your Instructor
I'm an environmental scientist and entomologist by training ( Cornell University ) and have done quite a bit of work in the field, including reclaiming mine sites, restoring forest ecosystems, monitoring stream water quality with aquatic insects, and a host of other fun projects outdoors. Sometimes it's challenging to communicate how these efforts impact us, so in 2005 I moved to Brooklyn to explore how I could apply my environmental knowledge to industries that noticeably impact our everyday lives—from what we wear to what we eat to what we grow.
The Houseplant Masterclass, Houseplant Basics, and my other plant-related courses were inspired by my lifetime love of growing plants—both indoors and outdoors. However, I noticed there was a gap for people who wanted to learn more about in-depth houseplant care online, so that's how this became a course online. I hope you enjoy it!
